"Skills for the future of European macro-regions": how it was?

On 10 October, we held a session within the European Week of Cities and Regions in Brussels dedicated to skills development and innovative solutions to overcome the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

The discussion brought together representatives of governments, the EU and non-governmental institutions with extensive experience in vocational education, innovative approaches and digitalisation.

The speakers discussed, in particular:
🔹 innovative approaches to professional development
🔹 current trends in skills development in the Baltic and Danube Regions
🔹 projects and results in the field of retraining and overcoming the consequences of the war in Ukraine
🔹 the importance of the role of macro-regional strategies
🔹 cooperation in the field of vocational education

Several important questions were raised by the audience: the role of vocational education in the context of brain drain, as well as how to convey to the population the importance of retraining and professional development in small countries.

The event was organised by the Ukrainian Institute of International Policy in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) and the Norden Association Sweden.

We thank our speakers for the fruitful discussion and the audience for thei great involvement and good questions! See you at our next events!
