EUSDR Embedding Week: how it was?

On July 11-15, 2022, the Embedding Week was held, during which representatives of the European Commission, the Presidency of Ukraine in the EUSDR, the priority areas of the EUSDR and the countries participating in the Strategy discussed issues related to the 5 priorities of the EUSDR that form the Danube macroregion.
🔹 A smarter Danube Region
As part of this priority, the speakers prepared a strategic framework for further discussions. The focus was on Research & Innovation, S3 and responding to the challenges arising in the Danube Region.
🔹 A more competitive Danube Region
The main focus of the discussions was the development of clusters and women's entrepreneurship. The participants laid the groundwork for further discussions of initiatives at the national and regional levels and joint strategic projects.
🔹 A more energy efficient Danube Region
They talked about energy efficiency, decarbonization of energy systems and outlined relevant projects and initiatives in the Danube region
🔹 A more resilient Danube Region
Adaptation to climate change, elimination of the consequences of floods and other natural disasters - these are the main topics of the fourth online meeting. The participants discussed various ways to overcome the consequences of climate change, shared examples of successful projects and outlined further initiatives in this direction.
🔹 A greener Danube Region
Participants focused their attention around endangered plant species, green infrastructure and ecosystem support services. All these topics are especially relevant with the implementation of the European Green Deal.
In total, during 5 productive online meetings, the participants discussed the main aspects of mutual coordination of financial instruments, examples of existing projects in the Danube region and priority areas of the Strategy.
